Volunteer
The Mark Wright Project needs volunteers of all ages, skills and experience, to help us in a range of different areas, depending on your interest and also how much time you can spare. Just a couple of hours a week can make all the difference, to the services we can provide to our ex-service men and women, and to the running of our Centre. You can help in areas of:
• Service Volunteers: chatting with and listening to our service users, assisting them in accessing information and advice
• Administration Volunteers: helping with daily report books, reception and answering the telephone
• Activity Volunteers: helping in the gym and/or with the development of adventure breaks
• Fundraising Volunteers: helping with community fundraising activities
As a volunteer with The Mark Wright Project you can expect:
• To be involved with an organisation that is dedicated to promoting and developing support services for ex-servicemen and women
• A supportive and positive environment that ensures you enjoy your volunteering
• To be treated with respect and courtesy
• To be treated fairly regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, parental or marital status, disability, religion, colour, race, ethnic or national origins, or socio/economic background
• An induction and opportunities to undertake appropriate training
• A named contact for support
• Relevant and up to date information and advice
• Recognition and thanks
• Reimbursement of any reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred in the course of your volunteering
• Equal opportunities
• Adequate public liability insurance
• Respect to your right to privacy and that of your contacts
