Fundraising Concert:  Artists on the Tall Ship

Group photo Tall Ship.jpgOn Sunday 20th September on the marvellous Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour the First Mark Wright Project Fundraising Concert took place.

Artists on the Tall Ship, was the brain child of Fiona MacDonald and her magnificent opera singing and musician friends, who also provided wonderful musical entertainment on the night.

The event was hosted by Colonel Stuart Tootal, DSO, OBE, the ex commander of 3rd Battalion of the Parachute Regiment(3 Para).

Stuart Tootal, Jem Wright, Fiona MacDonald, Marion Hebblethwaite, and Bob Wright 50 guests attended the event which included an Auction and Raffle. All of the magnificent prizes, from original Scottish art, signed books such as ‘Danger Close’, by Colonel Tootal, and ‘One Step Further’ by Marion Hebblethwaite, to a free range chicken called ‘Chicken Korma’ had been generously donated. It was truly a wonderful night and The Mark Wright Project would like to thank everyone who played a part in organising the event, to those who attended and donated so generously.Opera Singers.jpg

Particular thanks go to Fiona and her team of singers and musicians how freely donated their time and talents, Frank Brown, Director of Clyde Maritime Trust for providing such a wonderful venue, and Daniel Campbell for his art work and for organising donations from other local artists.

We are still collecting donations from the evening, but we are hoping to have raised in excess of £5,000 for our new Drop-In Centre, and services to ex servicemen and women. Thanks to everyone involved in making it such a great evening.
