Welcome to The Mark Wright Project
The Mark Wright Project established as a charity in July 2009 with a very clear vision to help our ex-service men and women overcome the invisible wounds of war. The project aims to help with their transition to civil life by providing access to a range of physical activities, social and recreational opportunities, and information and advice on a range of welfare, health and wellbeing services.
The Mark Wright Project Drop-In Centre is due to open in November 2009 and will be dedicated to supporting our ex-service men and women in addressing post-conflict issues. The Drop-In Centre will provide a very informal and relaxing environment in which young men and women can:
• Use the gym and participate in healthy physical activity
• Meet up with fellow ex-service people, chat and build relationships, friendships and community networks
• Become involved in developing and participating in adventure breaks
• Take part in confidence building workshops
• Access information, advice and support on a range of specialist services, such as combat trauma counselling, welfare, employment, training, and health and wellbeing
The Mark Wright Project will also assist families in developing a self-help family support network for parents/families of service personnel killed or wounded inmilitary combat.
